The world is a university and everyone in it is a teacher

Updated: Nov 17, 2021

My career started...

Three and a half years ago, I joined the Richemont Talent Team as a Recruiter, supporting the Distribution Center, Technical Center, Client Relations Center as well as teams located in other markets. Over the past few years working hard, learning the various roles, providing guidance, listening, giving 100% dedication, I have filled open positions that often require diverse and rare skill sets. Thanks to my devotion, I was promoted to Talent Acquisition Manager.

Working at Richemont is always busy and there is not a day I walk away from work without learning something new. This is what keeps me going; the people, the diversity and different cultures from all over the world. My friends always say that I am very lucky to work for a company that I actually love.

This journey...

My time within the Group has been a never-ending exploration of people, what inspires them, and matching them with the right opportunities.

What I enjoy most about my job as a Talent Acquisition Manager is exploring the deep questions that authentically represent who you really are. Examining a candidate's aspirations and ambitions, as well as how they match with their true passions.

I've also developed a liking for watches. I still recall the first time I saw how high-end luxury watches are assembled by hand by our talented Watchmakers. These people are truly passionate about their profession and it's contagious. Knowing that a watch is made up of many tiny, small gears, I see more than simply a watch; I see history, art, and masterful tradition.

I’ve learned...

That no matter how long you have been working, you never stop learning. Even though I have been working here for a long time, every day I learn new things from everyone and everywhere… I have a saying that the world is a university and everyone in it is a teacher.

Also, I’ve learnt the importance of teamwork in a results-driven environment. Additionally, I recognise that my success can influence others' success as well. I have become more confident in my ability to partner with the business in order to fulfill their recruiting needs.

What impressed you or surprised you the most?

I think what impressed me the most, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, is how transparent the Group is. I think it is also related to how the company treats us and the information that is being shared. The way Richemont always communicated the pieces of information and made sure the context was clear and not blurred, really surprised me and showed that my employer cared about me.

What I really like about working here is that the Group is trying to go further on everything, even if it takes time, Richemont keeps going further. I won’t give up on this opportunity for anything.

I live by the wise words...

“Don't get too comfortable with who you are at any given time - you may miss the opportunity to become who you want to be” - Jon Bon Jovi
